God gives peace and rest

Psalm 127:1 says, "Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain."

Most of the time, people ask God to bless whatever they're working on.

It's much better to ask what God is blessing and if we can work on that.

Verse two of the Psalm says, "It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil."

There's nothing wrong with hard work. It's helpful.

But worry? Anxiety? Not helpful.

Working hard because you're worried? Also not helpful.

The psalmist says God "gives sleep to God's beloved."

God designed rest for us -- sleep at night, a day of rest every week, and celebrations throughout the year.

If you find you're not able to sleep at night, there are lots of things you can do about it, discussed in the video. But the most basic is to ask God to give you peace and rest. And then, if you still can't sleep, use the time to pray for and bless others. They probably need it.

Tell spirits that are troubling you and the people you're thinking about to leave. If you're feeling anxious, tell the spirit of anxiety to leave. If you're feeling confused, tell the spirit of confusion to leave.

Jesus gives you the ability to clean up the environment around you and around people who come to mind.

God, thank you that you give us peace and rest. We praise you. Amen.

The video at the top of the page encourages you to receive God's peace and rest, and to redeem the time if you are unable to sleep at night.

What to do if you can't sleep at night

Ask God for the rest you need. Then if you still can't sleep, pray for yourself and for people who come to mind, not with anxiety, but with comfort and hope in God who loves you.
