Find your purpose. It's why you're gifted.

What is the purpose of your life? If you know, it's good to schedule your activities around that.

If you don't know, what does God want you to do today?

If you don't know that, do anything that Jesus asked you to do. It's a big enough list (and it's important enough) to be worth pursuing for the rest of your life.

Jesus was clear about his own purpose. At the start of Jesus' ministry, he was asked to read from the prophet Isaiah. He opened the scroll to Isaiah 61 and read, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because. . . "

Because. There are lots of great reasons to ask for God's Spirit. God's Spirit comforts us in our sorrows, reminds us of truth, and gives us insight, helping us avoid trouble and seize opportunity. It's good to be filled with God's Spirit and to follow the Spirit's direction.

But the passage Jesus quoted from Isaiah reveals something even beyond that. Isaiah 61 shows that God's Spirit equips us to do the amazing things Jesus calls us to do.

Quoting Isaiah, Jesus said, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to let the oppressed go free,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

By Luke 7:21, Jesus had accomplished it all.

Even more amazing, Jesus expected his disciples to be able to do those things as well.

You won't be able to accomplish such a list without the power of the Holy Spirit. But with God, all things are possible.
