Storms won't hurt homes
built on solid foundations
A house can appear stable for decades. But Jesus says when a huge storm comes you'll learn if the house is built on a solid foundation.
What counts as a solid foundation? Jesus says it is taking action on what he has told us to do.
“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on rock." Matthew 7:24-25 (NRSV)
Not taking action, Jesus says, is like building your house on sand.
What words of Jesus have you acted on?
What words of Jesus have you ignored or not implimented?
Based on Jesus' statement, would you say your foundation is mostly rock? or is it on some sand?
What do you want to do about it?
God, help us to hear what you are calling us to do and to joyfully do it. Thank you! Amen.
The video below encourages you to build your home on what Jesus says.
